We are going to introduce you to our pop up sellers in more detail over the next few posts and the first of out features is about The Retro station…
Sophie and Stephen make retro, vintage and up-cycled furniture, and we are really exited to have them on board. We asked them a few questions and here are their answers
How long have you been selling on Etsy and have you found it beneficial to your brand?
We have been selling on Etsy pretty much since day one of our business venture, June 2012. It has been hugely beneficial, a friend told us about Etsy and actually our first ever sale happened on here… it was this gorgeous chair and it went all the way to the USA. That is the beauty of Etsy…. it is a worldwide marketing tool with a ready made audience of Vintage/handmade enthusiasts!
What is your best seller?
We don’t have a best seller as such as each of our pieces tend to be one of a kind however we do tend to build/ sell Vintage industrial pieces allot…Our Upcycled or bespoke products do really well; French Vintage Industrial lockers, Trunkie chairs and Upcycled Industrial lighting.
Will you be selling some special festive creations in the pop up shop?
Probably nothing festive as such…. our handmade dining table and bench sets do sell very well in December. We think this is due to people preparing for the nationwide onslaught of extended family arriving to feast together! We also like to think that any one of our pieces would make someone a very happy bunny if it arrived under their tree!
What are you plans and ambitions for the future (if you have not already achieved them!)?
Our plans and ambitions…. We hope to expand to a small team of 5… spreading the work load to more carpenters and media buffs this way Stephen and i can travel Europe picking up more of the beloved vintage items that excite us so much! We also plan on expanding on Stephens Interior Design background and opening our very own strictly Vintage/retro Interior Design service.
Thanks Retro Station, we are looking forward to seeing you and your furniture an the 5th November.
